b: Be able to hear the vocalist or soloist at all times.
c: Blend musically onstage.
d: Be attentive to arrangement.
3. BE POSITIVE!
a: Be positively visible.
b: Avoid negativity on and off stage.
c: Always play as if prospective employers are watching, cameras are rolling, and the house is packed!
d: Avoid talking and acting negatively.
e: When talking about players, be constructive, not destructive.
4. BE PREPARED!
a: Be on time.
b: Be in tune.
c: Dress appropriately.
d: Have necessary equipment.
e: Learn unfamiliar tunes to avoid "winging it".
5. BE A TEAM PLAYER!
a: Be a friend as well as a musician.
b: Approach working with other musicians with a beginner's attitude
d: Be appreciative of musical advice and assistance.
e: Avoid conflict.
f: Be appreciative of fellow musicians and the sound/light crew, as they are just as important as you are!
6. TREAT THE MUSIC BUSINESS AS A BUSINESS!
a: Thoroughly check out all job prospects.
b: Avoid excessive responsibility.
c: Know your job description.
d: Stay in touch with other musicians.
e: Have promo materials with you at all times.
f: Utilize time spent offstage.
7. BE THANKFUL!
a: Remember that any talents we possess are truly gifts, and be thankful and humble!
